Wolfgang’s Steakhouse by Wolfgang Zwiener opened its first Hawaii location in Waikiki. The restaurant is on level three of the Royal Hawaiian Center in Building C next to Philip Rickard Honolulu Factory & Museum. The restaurant have a dry aging room, the first on Oahu, and the meat is butchered to order. Also on the menu is an array of seafood, as well as salads, potatoes and vegetables. A glass wine case allows guests to pick their bottles. There is also a full-service bar. Two private rooms for parties of 20 or 60 people are also available if reserved in advance. The two rooms can be combined for larger functions upon request.
History
After 4 decades of experience, it is fair to say that Wolfgang Zwiener learned his craft well. Taking the core principles from his years as Peter Luger’s head waiter, Wolfgang didn’t just duplicate an exceptional steakhouse; he improved upon it, making Wolfgang’s Steakhouse extraordinary. Not only does Wolfgang’s serve phenomenal porterhouse steak (for one, two, four or more), but the atmosphere, the expanded menu, the service and the accessibility of the location is appealing to even the most exacting diners.

What a wonderful dining experience. My husband and I just ate our Thanksgiving meal there and although the traditional Thanksgiving meal was offered we opted for lobster bisque and beef tartare exceptional!
In my line of business I have had the fourtune of eating at many highend steakhouses wolfgangs is a the top of my best list
My wife, son and I loved our special night out at Wolfgang`s. The service was excellent, especially the extra attention the staff gave my 5yr old. Teaching him to fold his white napkin like a crown and different animals… nice touch. The porterhouse steak was sumptuous; sliced for us at the table. Looking forward to another night at Wolfgang`s on the next family trip to Hawaii.
The best meal I have had in months! Food was fantastic. Better than any other steak house I have been to. Where can I buy that steak sauce??
My fiancee, two other couples and one of the ladies 93 year old father were fortunate to have dinner at Wolfgang’s Steak House on June 17, 2011. We were celebrating a combination birthday/father’s day event. My finacee was wise enough to plan ahead and made reservations to accomadate our party. Good move.
The service was outstanding and very atttentive. Grandpa had a great time and the servers were very accomadating with his choice of food as they know senior citizens eating habits may differ from the younger generation. If you’re 93 and it’s Father’s Day you deserve to be pampered too.
The three couples each shared a ribeye steak. Very generous portions and the dogs still got the bones. We also ordered vzrious sides which we shared. I orderd the cottage fries thinking more along the line of hash browns. I was very pleasantly surprised when they came out like homemade potato chips on steroids. They went very fast once everybody had a taste. Highly recommended. The mashed potatoes were very good and I am an expert on those. The steaks were ordered medium rare and were cooked to perfection. The wine was excellent and a generous pour.
As it was a birthday celebration for two of us in the party the servers did a great “Happy Birthday” for us. Later the manager, Bill Nickerson, did a great solo “Happy Birthday”. Very good voice.
As we arrived early we had the pleasure of pausing at the bar before being seated. The mixoligist, Greg, started our evening off with cocktails that prepared us for a very enjoyable experience. Even if he is from the Niagara New Yrok area and has lived here forever. Heh!
I have read some of the reviews with people mentioning attire. As much as I am a shorts, aloha shirt (t-shirt) and slippers person I think that this establishment is a cut above that. At lunch and happy hour (which is absolutely one of the best deals in town) a more laid back attire is appropriate. Waikiki is a laid bsck type of place but if you’re going to a great steak house for dinner put your pants on and take your ball cap off. There are many eateries in Waikik where you can wear whatever you want and they serve very good food. I have learned from my fiancee that the ladies like it when their guys dress appropriatelly for the ocassion.
We will defintely come back to the W and recommend it to everybody.
Great food. High prices. Good service.
Keep Dry Harbor in stock …….. coming back soon
An exiting experience.
